I recently upgraded to Adobe CS4 and am happily getting used to the updated panel system & interface. One of many resolutions for the new year is to create as much content as I possibly can, retraining my mind to adapt to whatever task I’m putting in front of it.
Being creative is more than just being able to one-off something that looks good. To me, being creative is a state of mind that I’m continually searching for, a methodology of being able to dissect the goal I have in mind and create a plan to execute, succinctly. The goals don’t always follow the same rules, in fact, they’re not even always visual problem solving. Being nimble, creatively, is what I’m trying to explore; Whether that’s solely through pixel pushing, a guitar, a lens, or what have you, has yet to be seen.
I still need to learn some of the new features in CS4. While I’ve actually been using Dreamweaver CS4 and Lightroom 2, but never bothered to upgrade my core daily programs until recently. So far my impressions of both Illustrator and Photoshop are on the positive side. The new interface is nice, although I’m having a few issues or using Photoshop’s new tabbed interface for multiple open files in conjunction with Apple’s Spaces OSX feature that I love so much.
My objective for this wallpaper was to create something simple, and retain some of the aesthetics from the actual site, and perhaps create something I can incorporate back into the site.My friend and fellow art director Joshua Corliss always criticizes me, pushing me to incorporate more of my illustration style in this website. Hopefully over the next few weeks I get to explore this more, more adding more of myself and personality into the designs.
This wallpaper was made using Photoshop and After Effects.
Simple, but its a start.
